What A great year 2018 was for Harmony Enterprises!
In 2018, Harmony Enterprises enjoyed shared success and integration with Harmony Europe and Harmony Equipment Rental, as well as the benefit provided by our neighbor, Harmony Kids Learning Center. When we sat down to review the year, we were overwhelmed by the amount of positive things that took place at Harmony Enterprises in 2018!
Not only did we provide quality balers, compactors, beverage extraction equipment, and service to satisfied customers all over the world, we continued to grow and improve our business, processes, and people, all while living our Core Purpose of Career, Community, and Culture.
Here are some of the highlights from the year:
Harmony Enterprises started a Second Shift this past August to meet the demand of increased sales and customer satisfaction. We are grateful that we are able to continue to provide meaningful long-term employment for additional members of our community.
We also added new lead positions in production, including Steve Chiglo in welding, Dennis Eiken in Fabrication, Robin Bellanger for second shift. These people have been extremely important in helping with throughput and communication throughout the production process.
Parts room organization, labeling, and software system updating was done this past summer. This has helped us to better understand and manage our inventory.
Harmony Enterprises increased its new burn table efficiency to rates never seen before by our production staff! Our talented engineer and production teams worked diligently to create innovative programming and scheduling of this high-tech machine. Because of their efforts, we are able to get more material through in a much shorter amount of time!
Harmony promoted our Core Values and Proven Process in new and highly effective ways. As a part of our EOS system, we rolled out our Core Values Video to rave reviews by our vendors, customers, and employees! It was fun to have so many employees engaged with making the video and showing off their Harmony pride!
We featured several customer success stories, including an installation at ABB, the important work being done by Non Profit Community and Watauga Opportunities, Inc., and the incredible sustainability efforts leading toward zero waste at the University of California at Irvine.
Harmony Enterprises teamed up with Harmony Europe to score an “Ace” at the 2018 French Open. We supplied two dozen SmartPacks in and around the sporting venue. Each one was configured with our Insite Wireless Monitoring. This system not only saved employee time, allowing them to empty the trash on a just in time basis, it improved the overall customer experience!
Harmony Enterprises soared at the AAAE Show this past April and has gained significant exposure in Airport Improvement Magazine throughout the year. We are thrilled to have completed equipment installations in both the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and look forward to the many new opportunities afforded to us for 2019!
In 2018, Harmony Enterprises engaged its Interested Parties to learn more about their needs and expectations. We also engaged current and potential customers with market research as part of our total team’s commitment to product development. Our collaboration means that you should look for new and exciting products and services from Harmony Enterprises in 2019!
With our growth, Harmony welcomed several new faces to our teams, expanding not only our production staff, but also our accounting and customer service departments. We recognized the retirements of our Purchasing Manager, Sid Polley, and Technical Support Engineer, Steve Sagen, as well as the untimely passing of our Executive Vice-President, Brent Christiansen. This prestigious award reflects decades of hard work, community involvement, and dynamic vision shared by this innovative couple!
- In 2018, our harmony1.com website traffic was up 126%, with over 210,000 site visitors!
- Harmony was also fortunate to gain new national accounts, as well as create lasting partnerships with new vendors such as OES and PMI.
- We continued to grow the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) throughout our entire company, including our team at Harmony Europe. This system has helped us to gain traction by better understanding optimizing the opportunities with our data, vision, people, processes, and issues.
In 2018, we made many improvements to our shop floor, including the purchase of new equipment. This year, we invested in a new forklift, and two new welding stations, including a boom welder. These purchases help us to maximize our efficiencies in creating quality products, like our PERF-SSHB GEN2 Beverage Extraction Baler. We also installed a new AirVent system in preparation for our new Robotic Welder set to arrive in 2019!
Harmony is proud to have released new products, such as the VC100 Vertical Compactor, and new product videos for our M42BC Vertical Stockroom Baler and the SmartPack Automatic Compactor.
Harmony Europe added a Technical Support staff person to their team. Emmanuel Da Costa has been a wonderful asset to the team, assisting in all aspects of technical support.
Harmony Europe’s new mobile responsive website, www.harmonyeurope.fr also went live this year. This state-of-the-art tool allows our European team to better serve all of Europe and North Africa with quality service and equipment. Harmony Europe specializes in providing unique solutions to waste handling and recycling, while being one of the leading providers of service for the VGP in France.
Harmony Enterprises continued to be an active supporter of events in our community, such as Relay For Life, Harmony Chamber of Commerce, Harmony EDA, Harmony 4th of July Celebration, and more! We were proud to be able to provide our local Harmony Visitor’s Center with a SmartPack Automatic Trash Compactor and a wall mural that helps to tell our story and place in the Harmony Community.
Our employees continued to serve their communities with Junior Achievement Courses, as volunteer EMT’s and firefighters, and by contributing as members to several civic organizations.
We are proud of all that we have accomplished in 2018 and recognize that none of it would be possible without the support of our employees, customers, vendors, technicians, logistics partners, and community members.
