Market Status: Strong

OCC remains one of the strongest recovered commodity segments entering August. Prices have increased incrementally throughout 2026, supported by steady mill demand and tightening supplies of quality recovered fiber. Clean, dry corrugated cardboard with minimal contamination remains best positioned to attract consistent buyer interest and stronger values.

MIXED PAPER

Market Status: Stable

Mixed paper markets remain generally steady, supported by consistent domestic demand and stable export pricing. Market conditions continue to vary by region and available mill capacity. Proper sorting, reduced contamination and protection from moisture remain important for maintaining dependable outlets.

PET PLASTIC

Market Status: Weak

PET markets remain weak despite a modest increase in national bale pricing during July. Low demand for domestically produced recycled resin, inexpensive virgin plastic and reduced U.S. processing capacity continue to place pressure on the market. Clean, properly sorted PET remains more marketable than contaminated or moisture-heavy material.

ALUMINUM USED BEVERAGE CANS (UBC)

Market Status: Strong

Aluminum UBC continues to be one of the strongest and most valuable recyclable commodity streams. National values remain favorable, supported by summer beverage demand, manufacturing needs and increased demand for domestically sourced recycled aluminum. Clean, properly separated and densely baled cans remain highly desirable to processors and manufacturers.

PET continues to face the greatest pressure due to weak recycled-resin demand and reduced processing capacity.
