Paper Shortage On The Horizon
This past year, it seems like the supply chain shortages are the only thing NOT in short supply. Media outlets are now reporting that there could be another global shortage on paper and paper products, due to high demand of these commodities. That’s another reason why now, more than ever, as the value increases, we need to consider recycling paper with a paper baler.
Paper, which includes everything from junk mail to newspaper, accounts for a big chunk of the municipal solid waste stream at 33%. Paper is also one of the most recovered materials, as recycling opportunities are often readily available. By recycling one ton of paper we save 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water and 463 gallons of oil, according to the EPA.
Paper Can be Recycled 5-7 Times

Paper consists of fibers. Papers with longer fibers, such as office paper, are more valuable. As papers get recycled repeatedly over time, the fibers get shorter. But papers with shorter fibers can still be made into new products such as newspaper or toilet paper. After the paper is recycled 5-7 times, (or sometimes referred to “7 generations”) the fibers in the paper get too short to be recycled and they need to be mixed in with virgin fibers.
After the papers are sorted and baled by a paper recycling machine, the bales are stored until they are transported to a paper mill. At the paper mill, the bales are broken down to be shredded and processed into paper rolls, and made into new paper products later.
Vertical Balers Ideal for Paper Recycling

M30HD – A heavy-duty 30″ down stroke baler that takes up very little space. Bale size is 24″ x 30″ x ≤ 30″ with a 17″ x 29″ feed opening and a whopping 41,350 lb. ram force.
M42HD – A portable down stroke baler that is heavy-duty. It has a larger bale size of 22″ x 42″ x ≤ 30″ with the same ram force as the M30HD.
M60MD – A manual low profile baler that is medium-sized and heavy-duty but still fits under a standard ceiling. Bale size is 30”x 60” ≤ 30” with a 24″ x 60″ feed opening.

M60STD – Our standard 60″ vertical baler with a winning combination of performance and value, that make it one of our most popular balers. The 6″ cylinder and efficient hydraulics, combined with the easy of loading make this a desirable paper baler for many applications. Bale size is 30”x 60” ≤ 51” with a large 24″ x 60″ feed opening.
M72HD – The most productive high density baler on the market today, the M72HD bales more in less time and with less space. Bale size is 40”x 72” ≤ 40” with an extra large 24″ x 72″ feed opening.
S60XD – An high density down stroke baler, with a unique combination of power and flexibility. The 7″ cylinder provides 92,360 lbs. of ram force to create consistently dense 30”x 60”x 48” bales of paper.
T60XD – A versatile automatic paper baler that can be configured as a rear feed baler for very high capacity situations or a simple front feed system where space is at a premium. It has a durable 10″ cylinder to crush paper into 30”x 60” ≤ 48” mill-sized bales.
