Parts Replacement On An Old Model

This issue came up when a customer contacted us needed a door replacement on a model of baler we do not manufacture anymore, a Harmony HP60, believed to have been manufactured in the mid-to-late 1980’s. While Harmony does not ensure parts replacement beyond 20 years, we made an exception for this customer and decided to help them out, since the rest of the baler is working without issue.
It quickly came to our attention that some of the old model prints and jigs for this machine had been archived and that our talented welding staff did not have experience producing the doors for this unique mill-sized baler.

Carl retired in 2021 after 42 years of dedicated service as a welder with Harmony. He was one of the leading welders on staff when Harmony produced several HP60 balers during the 1980’s and 1990’s. When he heard of the need to make a replacement door to help out a customer, Carl jumped at the chance.
Working with our current welding and production teams, Carl helped to ensure that the door form, fit, & function was to specification and shared his vast knowledge with our team, confirming our prints and records. With his, and everyone’s help, our customer will have a functioning door and be able to use their recycling baler long into the future!
