Carl Ernst Retiring After 42 Years Of Service
Employee retention is one of the most important goals for many companies, especially manufacturers. Business owners understand that having quality employees as part of a company culture over a long period of time helps to create continuity, mentorship, and consistency.
Harmony Enterprises has been blessed to have several such employees during its 59 years in operation. One of the mainstays of our production staff has been welder, Carl Ernst. After 42 years of work at Harmony Enterprises, Carl will be retiring this week.
We would like to honor Carl for his years of service, commitment, and dedication to Harmony Enterprises. He has been instrumental in the continued growth, expansion, and innovation at Harmony over the past four decades.
Carl started in the GPI division of then “HECO” in 1979. He worked in the clean up room during the time that Harmony only manufactured two models of recycling balers. From there, he moved to the paint department, and then to welding.
During his earlier years as a welder, he fabricated thousands of pieces of metal used in camper parts and awnings. As Harmony’s product line continued to adapt with market demand, Carl’s focus shifted to balers and compactors. Over the years, Carl has honed his work and is truly a master craftsman. Known to speak his mind, he has had the courage to share ideas and vision to helped Harmony to continue to improve its products and processes, bringing the benefit straight to the customer.
Not only that, he has provided countless hours of training and mentorship to new and existing staff. Carl’s knowledge of Harmony history, equipment, parts, and processes has been a valuable resource for all. He has personally provided hundreds, if not thousands of hours of support and feedback on designs, ensuring that parts and weldments went together more easily during the production process. Carl takes pride in the fact that he has helped out on many prototype machines and has been a part of the birth of many pieces of equipment designed and manufactured by Harmony Enterprises, Inc.
When reflecting on Carl’s career, VP of Operations, Ramon Hernandez states,
“Carl has always been someone that I can go to and know that I will get a honest answer, good or bad. I have always valued his honesty and courage to give it to me straight. Thank you for your impressive 42 years! You have been someone that we can all count on to get it done. I wish you the best on your retirement, good luck fishing and happy hunting.”
-Ramon Hernandez, VP of Operations
