Harmony Exhibits At Regional Welding Competition
The last Tuesday of the month promises to be an exciting one for students who are exploring careers in welding, manufacturing, trades, and the military. It’s the date of the second annual Southeast Minnesota Welding Competition at Rochester Community and Technical College. Put on in part by RCTC and the Southeast Service Cooperative, this exciting event will draw over 400 area youth to compete in the welding competition or attend a career fair and breakout sessions. Harmony Enterprises is extremely proud to exhibit at this regional welding competition!
As a 2023 nominee for Industry Partner of the Year, Harmony continues to support career-connected learning opportunities for youth that help provide career awareness and readiness skills, while developing pathway exposure for them to enter into careers like those available at Harmony Enterprises.
At the event, Harmony will participate in the career fair, talking with students about the importance and benefits of careers in manufacturing. We will also have welding samples and even a working small scale version of the perforator drums welders make to help our liquid extraction balers perforate, drain, and bale large volumes of PET, aluminum, and TetraPak containers!
We also will be talking with potential future employees about the many opportunities there are for youth skills training, on-the-job training, or wage subsidy contracts offered through Workforce Development, Inc.
Harmony has a proven track record of partnering with WDI and local trade schools to offer paid training to students learning how to weld, followed by welding certification and full time employment at Harmony. Students need to know of the many wonderful career opportunities available to them and the assistance they can get to help remove barriers to both education and employment! Harmony and WDI can help!
