Did you know that you can bale motherboards and blankets? Or bottles and cans that still have liquids in them? You may be surprised to learn about all the different recyclable materials that can be compacted and baled! Take a look at the extensive list below to find out “What Recyclable Materials can be Baled?”.
Recyclable Materials that can be Baled
Cardboard, Newspaper, and Paper – There are nearly a dozen different balers to choose from for recycling cardboard or paper, depending on your needs. Learn how to choose a Baler for Paper Recycling.
Cartons – Carton Recycling is available to half of US Households and any Harmony Enterprises baler can be used for cartons. There are two types of cartons (shelf-stable and refrigerated) and they are both recyclable.
E-Waste – ROUND2 is one example of an e-waste recycler who uses the System Ten Sixty (T60XDRC) for baling everything from plastics, to non-ferrous metals, and motherboards.
Full Plastic Bottles and Cans – Bottling companies can save massive time and money when eliminating expired product, by using a baler that both drains and bales in one step. The BCB2003 ExtractPack and the SSHB Stainless Steel Horizontal Baler offer two different options for extracting liquids from bottles and cans as part of the baling process.
Non-Ferrous Metals – Recyclable non-ferrous metals can include aluminum, copper, lead, nickel, and many other precious metals. Some of our balers that are ideal for recycling non-ferrous metals include the M60STD, S60XD, and the T60XD. Learn more about choosing a Non-Ferrous Metal Baler.
Plastics (All Types) – Harmony Enterprises balers can bale all types of plastics from #1-#7 plastic codes. This covers everything from soda bottles to Tupperware!
Textiles – Balers are an important part of textile recycling. After clothes are collected and sorted, they are sanitized and baled. The M60STD, S60XD, and the S60XDRC Balers are all good choices for baling clothing and textiles (blankets, rags, rugs, curtains, etc.).
Tires – Even tires can be compacted, making it easier for storage and transportation. By using the Compactyre, tires can be reduced in size by 66%. Scrap tires are recycled into tire derived fuel, civil engineering applications, and ground rubber applications.
