Envirotec’s scope of work revolves around solid waste compaction, baling and packaging systems, design, supply and installation, solid waste transfer stations, compost plants & automatic waste collection systems.

Learning about Harmony Enterprises Inc. at the Waste Expo
It was fifteen years ago at the Waste Expo where Eng. Mario Haddad, CEO and Founder of Envirotec, first met Steve Cremer, President of Harmony Enterprises. Haddad recalls, “I was wandering around the exhibition of Waste Expo in 1999, scouting and keeping a keen eye out for something interesting, when I found Steve standing in a humble 2m X 2m booth with the earliest prototypes of the SP30! The rest is history.”

In Saudi Arabia, Harmony Enterprises balers and compactors are found everywhere from hypermarkets, malls, and hotels, and restaurants. When we asked Haddad which products from Harmony Enterprises have been the most well-recieived in the Middle East, he commented, “Of course the epic and legendary Harmony M60STD Vertical Baler…the formidable stocky yellow baling machine. Runner up: SP20 SmartPack naturally.” It is the overall durability and quality that seem to stand out the most over the years though. Haddad said, “We’ve been having a fantastic business relationship with Harmony since day one. Harmony products are of high quality and have been proven repeatedly to withstand time, harsh weather of KSA, and heavy client use, while persistently & steadily delivering.”
Recycling & Waste Management in the Middle East
Haddad explained how the United States Recycling and Waste Management is different from that in Saudi Arabia. He points out, “The US has been in the recycling and waste management industry for more than half a century. We didn’t have it easy, it took me around 3 years of continuous meetings and presentations to convince the Municipalities in the late 90’s to cater the residential refuse only and have private waste disposal companies such as Envirotec cater the commercial refuse at a cost, hence relieving some of the financial and operational burden on the government.” But Envirotec’s hard work did pay off. Today Envirotec is running more than 150 rental projects and supplied recycling and waste management equipment to hundreds more.

When selling Harmony Enterprises equipment, Envirotec focuses on what they feel in most important in the eyes of their customers. Haddad’s approach is simple, “We usually focus on the quality, durability and capacity of Harmony products in comparison with rivalries… we give factual proof thru site visits of our very first installations with some of our long trusting clients. Basically showcasing to the prospect the combination of exceptional quality and service that they’ll reap when signing a contract with Envirotec.” Quality standards are also important, he points out, “The consultants on the other hand are more peculiar and seek a standardized proof of quality; the subsequent logos GSA, UL, CE, Wastec Member & Environmental Industry Associations simply leave no room for debate & hence enlist Harmony as one of the recommended products.”
