Harmony Kids Celebrates Their Fourth Anniversary!
Its hard to believe that four years have passed since Harmony Kids Learning Center opened its doors to serve our community. June 6th marked the fourth anniversary of the learning center located just to the north of Harmony Enterprises.
It took six short months for the building to be renovated for their grand opening, beginning in January of 2016. A lot has happened since that renovation was completed and the daycare opened their doors for business.
The learning center now serves 110 families in our area. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, they averaged an enrollment of 65-75 kids per day. Harmony Enterprises employees benefit by having such a valuable resource steps away from their place of work. They receive a discounted rate for care, but also have the opportunity to have lunch with their children and take part in special learning center events.
Harmony Kids Learning Center is proud to have earned the Parent Aware Four Star Rating!
One of the greatest achievements earned by HKLC in the past four years is when they received the coveted 4 Star Rating by Parent Aware in 2019.
According to their website, “Parent Aware, Minnesota’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, offers tools and resources to help:
- Families find quality child care and early education
- Programs improve their practices
- Children benefit from care and education that will prepare them for school and life.”
It’s no surprise HKLC received this award, as the planning that went into the facility and its mission was carefully laid out in advance.
Best Laid Plans Are The Ones That Last
When businesses begin planning their business model, facility layout, and hiring staff, they should pay special attention to build a total system that lasts. That’s exactly what Harmony Kids did.
They are more than just a daycare. Not only do they provide quality supervision of infant through school-aged children, they have certified instructors that offer a tangible curriculum in all areas of education. Children are exposed to math, science, social sciences, and the arts, all while playing and nurturing each other in a safe and collaborative environment.

Often times, local community experts and business leaders volunteer their time to teach week-long learning units for the children. There have been extensive learning units in STEAM, music, travel, horticulture, art, and much more!
Harmony Kids also put a lot of thought and effort into the layout and physical attributes of the building from the lighting and paint color, down to the use of six classrooms, a gym, a commercial kitchen, front offices, plush the innovative design of two outdoor play areas.
Always more important that physical design of a business are its people. Harmony Kids prides itself on a caring, compassionate, and dynamic staff. They are fortunate to have four members of their original team still with them, acting in different capacities for the children, parents, and community. In addition to Executive Director Umbelina Cremer, Mrs. Kinzee, Mrs. Angie, and Miss Andrea are all active members of the Harmony Kids team!
Navigating Through Uncertain Times:
2020 has been a year of constant change and uncertainty. Despite challenges related to the Coronavirus and the economy, the resilient team at HKLC has been able to continue to serve the needs of area families and children.
