Lean Office and Visual Management Training (PDF) (Presentation during Enterprise Minnesota “Benefits of an Efficient Office Event) – Mikel Smith, Operations Manger at Harmony Enterprises, Inc. talked to other Minnesota manufacturers about the introduction of visual management. Mikel shared how Harmony Enterprises uses the white board to clearly communicate expectations and set timelines for everyone to see as well as giving engineering the visual direction needed to meet customer demand. He also discussed how Harmony Enterprises implemented shop floor releases through a schedule board located in the production managers office.
ISO Certification – After much preparation, Harmony Enterprises, Inc. recieved ISO 9001:2008 Certification in January, 2014. Harmony Enterprises, Inc. has always strived to provide the best quality equipment in our industry. By making the decision to become ISO Certified, it reinforces our commitment to quality. Enterprise Minnesota was the consulting service who helped through training, developing our quality guide manual, and getting certified.
Strategic Planning Sessions – Enterprise Minnesota has guided us through strategic planning sessions that have been helpful in identifying opportunities. Part of this process requires digging deep into the company to define the organization’s structure as well as investigate external factors that will play a role in the company’s growth. The strategic planning sessions helped to reinforce our company’s mission, vision and objectives for the future, as well as the important role that each person plays in reaching these goals.
