Earth Day 2025 – Our Power, Our Planet
Earth Day 2025 is this Tuesday, April 22nd! The theme for this year’s event is “The theme for Earth Day 2025, which falls on April 22nd, is “Our Power, Our Planet”, focusing on the importance of renewable energy and urging a global shift towards clean electricity generation. According to earthday.org, “By 2035 energy needs in countries such as the U.S. can be met by renewable sources, 365 days a year, which is why we are calling for renewable energy generation, globally, to be tripled by 2030.
Renewable energy is a powerful unifying force, bringing together diverse countries, regions, states, and communities that are often polar opposites, politically and economically. Clean energy transcends ideological boundaries, showcasing the universal appeal of affordable energy.”
We couldn’t agree more.
How Can Your Business Do?
With Earth Day 2025 designated as Our Power, Our Planet, what will you and your business do to ensure that the earth is a sustainable place for generations to come?
Here are some things that every business should do, not only to benefit the environment, but to help them save time, space, & money in their operations.
- Recycle

This Clear Lake, IA company invested in this Harmony baler in 1992 as a way to invest in our planet & its still going strong!
This may seem obvious, but its amazing how many businesses don’t have recycling programs. We often hear from potential customers about how much they pay waste haulers to remove valuable by-products like cardboard, aluminum, paper, and plastics. They are literally paying someone else to take away products that they, in turn, most likely recycle for money. Worse yet, no one recycles them, and they are unnecessarily added to an already strained waste stream.
These recyclable materials can and should be baled and recycled for money. Recyclers process them into raw materials that can be reused like aluminum cans, chipboard like cereal boxes, paperboard, paper towels, tissues and printing or writing paper, and more corrugated boxes.
The type of baler you need depends on the type and volume of recyclables you have as a waste product in your operations. It also depends on the space you have available to operate it.
Harmony manufactures the widest range of both vertical and horizontal balers, for virtually any industry. Made in the U.S.A. using U.S. steel, our recycling balers are known for their longevity and durability. We also understand the importance of full product destruction and how reusing valuable metals and plastics as well as out of spec products can help with renewable energy. Our experienced sales team can work with you to help you figure out the right recycling baler for your needs. We offer free quotes and site reviews, and can provide you with an estimated ROI for any baler investment.
2. Compact Waste
This is another surprise to us, that people prefer to throw trash into an unsecured open top dumpster that’s typically emptied 4x more often than a waste compactor!
By compacting trash into a smaller footprint, businesses reduce the space used in the landfill, as well as the number of times their trash is picked up by a hauler. This means that they are helping to reduce the carbon emissions put into the atmosphere by the trucks hauling their waste.
Trash compactors also help to reduce fire hazards, vermin, odor, and pilferage. They, to, have a proven ROI, especially when factoring in the reduced hauling expenses.
3. Other Creative Ways To Invest In Our Planet
