Which Automatic Vertical Baler Should I Buy?
Harmony Enterprises sets itself apart from the competition as the baler and compactor manufacturer that offers the widest range of equipment solutions. In addition to our indoor compactors, outdoor compactors, horizontal balers, and liquid extraction balers, Harmony produces thirteen long-lasting models of vertical balers. Two of our most popular models include our S60XDRC and T60XDRC automatic vertical balers.
These large, conveyor fed machines bale a variety of commodities, including PET, HDPE, milk jugs, aluminum cans, steel cans, magazine and newsprint, textiles, non-ferrous metals, cardboard boxes.
Our customers often ask for assistance choosing the right large automatic baler for their business. We thought it might be helpful to create this post highlighting the similarities and differences of these two innovative machines.
Similarities Between S60XDRC & T60XDRC
Customers with higher volumes of a variety of recyclables know that both of these space-saving heavy-duty automatic balers help save operational costs related to recycling.
Both are manufactured using high quality U.S. steel and come with your choice of a 36″ or 48″ conveyor with “beefy cleats” that are 38% thicker than standard cleats.
Each has a 20HP motor, large 25 x 60″ front loading door, and hydraulic eject system, producing 30”x 60” ≤ 48” mill-sized bales.
The automatic cycling feature takes product deposited into the conveyor up to the baler chamber. When the baler is full, the machine automatically cycles until the bale reaches full size and the machine stops to allow tying of the bale.
Automatic Vertical Baler Comparisons
Even with all of the similarities, there are definite differences, depending on what you are baling, the volume, and bale weights desired. Here is a chart that clearly shows the differences between our S60XDRC and T60XDRC Automatic Vertical Balers:
To summarize, for businesses in which bale weight is not a priority, we recommend the S60XDRC. For operations that need a heavier, more dense bale, we suggest the T60XDRC. While both balers provide a fast ROI, there is a price difference between them, with the S60XDRC being the more affordable of the two machines.
When Not To Buy A Large Automatic Vertical Baler
While both the S60XDRC and T60XDRC make dense, mill-sized bales of cardboard, they may not be the best solution for your business. Both balers can handle varying sizes of corrugated cardboard, but it is best to manually hand feed it through the front loading door so that it does not get jammed in the chamber opening.
For operations that need to conveyor feed sheets of cardboard or larger boxes, our HM-60 horizontal baler may be the best choice. With its shear blade technology and jam correction features, cardboard does not get stuck in the baler, allowing for constant, worry-free operation.
