Harmony Introduces Market Insight Monday
Beginning Monday, July 20, Harmony Enterprises is proud to launch Market Insight Monday, a new 12-week educational series designed to help our customers and industry partners better understand the trends shaping today’s recycling industry.
At Harmony, we’ve spent more than 60 years designing and manufacturing equipment that helps organizations recover, process, and manage recyclable materials more efficiently. Every day, we work alongside material recovery facilities (MRFs), recyclers, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, municipalities, and waste professionals across North America.
Those relationships provide us with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the recycling industry.
We build equipment used throughout the recycling industry. Because of those relationships, we see trends worth sharing. Our goal is education, not prediction.
That philosophy is the foundation of Market Insight Monday.
Rather than simply reporting whether markets are up or down, each weekly update will help explain why markets move and what those changes may mean for recycling operations. We’ll highlight the factors influencing today’s commodity markets in a concise, practical format that is easy to understand and relevant to organizations throughout the recycling value chain.
Each Monday’s update will include:
- A snapshot of current market conditions for key recyclable commodities, including OCC, mixed paper, PET plastic, aluminum used beverage cans (UBC), and steel.
- A brief explanation of the supply and demand trends influencing those markets.
- A featured Market Insight of the Week, providing additional perspective on seasonal trends, recycling economics, operational best practices, sustainability initiatives, regulatory developments, or emerging industry topics.
- Practical observations that help readers better understand the broader recycling landscape.
Our objective is straightforward: to provide timely, educational content that helps customers stay informed without requiring them to sift through lengthy market reports or complex commodity publications.
As a company serving nearly every segment of the waste and recycling industry, we recognize that market conditions influence far more than commodity values. They can affect equipment utilization, transportation decisions, processing volumes, operational planning, capital investments, and long-term sustainability initiatives. By understanding the broader forces driving the market, organizations are better positioned to make informed operational decisions.
While every operation is unique, we hope this series provides useful context that complements the expertise of our customers, recycling partners, and industry professionals.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Harmony Enterprises is not a commodity broker, financial advisor, market analyst, or investment firm. We do not speculate on future commodity prices or attempt to predict market performance.
The information shared in this series is intended solely for educational purposes and reflects general industry observations based on publicly available information, reputable industry resources, and our experience serving the waste and recycling industry.
Commodity markets vary considerably based on geographic region, material grade, contamination levels, transportation costs, buyer requirements, and other local market conditions. Readers should consult their recycling partners, commodity buyers, and other qualified market resources when making pricing or purchasing decisions.
We invite you to join us in our blog section every Monday over the next 12 weeks as we explore the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping today’s recycling industry. Whether you’re operating a recycling facility, managing waste and sustainability programs, or simply interested in the circular economy, we hope Market Insight Monday becomes a valuable resource and a regular part of your week!
