As a business owner or facilities manager, you know that baling your recyclables and selling them to a recycling center helps to reduce waste and save money. Whether you are running a warehouse, stockroom, retail business, or other type of facility, collecting and baling the recyclables yourself is typically preferred to using a dumpster and waste hauler for collection.
But how do you locate recycling centers that will purchase your recyclables?
Our customers ask us often, how to find buyers of cardboard or other recyclables. We want to offer you a few resources to help you sell your cardboard, paper, aluminum, plastic, or whatever material you are baling at your facility.
Industry Net
Industry Net is an industrial search engine that allows you to search for different manufacturers and suppliers across the United States. Each company is categorized and there are 48 different categories related to “Recycling” alone. Here is a link to a quick search for “Recycling Centers” or you can also start your own Industry Net search. There are many ways you can narrow your search to specific recycling categories and a specific state to find what you are looking for.
RecycleMatch Marketplace
RecycleMatch Marketplace is a public platform where reputable buyers and sellers of commercial waste and recyclables can transact quickly and easily. Sellers can post what recyclables or waste they have for sale, and potential buyers can make a bid on those materials. It is free to start a listing, and you pay once you have selected a buyer.
Google your Location & Recyclables
Since each region and recyclable material is handled differently, sometimes it may be best to do a few Google searches to find what is in your local area. Try searching for “recycling centers purchasing {insert material} in {insert state, county, or city/state}” or something similar and start browsing through the search results to see if any of the recycling centers listed would be potential buyers of your materials.
