Harmony’s New Press Brake Increases Production Efficiency
Harmony Enterprises continually looks to improve and increase our production efficiencies. Part of that process is providing our talented staff with the tools they need to optimize their daily work efforts. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment like robotic welders, plasma tables, and more help to achieve this goal. Recently, Harmony purchased a new press brake to increase throughput in our fabrication department.
A press brake is a is a piece of manufacturing equipment that is used to bend sheet metal. Normally long and narrow, these powerful machines create these bends by clamping the sheet or plate between the movable punch and the stationary die.
At Harmony, our press brakes are used to bend metal used in many of the parts needed to fabricate our long lasting recycling balers and compactors. These parts range from simple switch mounts all the way to complicated chamber bends.
Our current press brake has served us well during the past four decades. But, increased demand for our quality products, as well as a desire to increase capabilities of what our current machine could do led to our decision to purchase another press brake to use in conjunction with our existing unit.
Partnering with our local community bank, First Southeast Bank of Harmony, we were able to order our machine this past fall and have it delivered in early February.
How Harmony’s New Press Brake Increases Production Efficiency
Our new press brake is a Durma Model AD-S 30320 CNC Hydraulic Press Brake with DA-66T Control. It’s a 10 foot, 352 ton press brake with 4 axis.
These important specifications, along with several other features, provide benefits that allow us to increase our production efficiencies through its use. For example,
