Harmony Enterprises, Inc. may be known worldwide for manufacturing recycling and waste management equipment, but locally they are known for much more. With a strong community focus since the company began back in 1962, they are always looking for ways to make the Harmony, MN community a better place. The new Childcare Development Center slated to open at Harmony Enterprises Inc. this spring is no exception (click here to read the story that Enterprise Minnesota wrote about the project).
Thinking Big for Harmony’s Families
What started as an idea for a small 40-kids daycare center to help make things easier for their employees’ families, has now been extended to fit the needs of a growing community that goes beyond staff and up to 100 kids. Steve Cremer, President of Harmony Enterprises Inc. knows that the cost and inconvenience of daycare can be a burden for many young families. He also envisions that making daycare more accessible can help bring more families to the small town of Harmony, and make the town more attractive to the younger generation. When competing for the best employees in a small town, having an in-house daycare is an enormous benefit.
Harmony Childcare Center is A Family Affair
The Childcare Development Center is a family affair, not unlike Harmony Enterprises Inc. itself. Steve Cremer, our current President, was preceded by his Father, Don Cremer, and his Grandfather, Al Cremer, who were previous Presidents of the company. The success of the upcoming Childcare Development Center includes many people from Steve Cremer’s family working on everything from interior design, furniture and equipment, to promotion and branding of the Daycare Center. Steve’s wife, Umbelina Cremer, has 25 years of previous experience caring for children and will be running the daycare. Cremer explained, “Getting this Childcare Development Center running is not only a commitment to our employees and community in Harmony, but as a family we are all working together to make it the best it can be.”
