Harmony Participates In 2022 Workforce Development Forum
Harmony Enterprises’ core focus is career, community, culture, and company. As part of that overall focus, Harmony strives to improve ways in which we can attract and retain talented employees. We also look to share innovative ideas and best practices with regional partners, businesses, and Workforce Development, Inc.
On Thursday, April 28th, Harmony Enterprises participated in the 2022 Workforce Development Forum, hosted by Workforce Development, Inc., the Southeast Minnesota Workforce Development Board, and the Winona
Workforce Development Board via Zoom meeting. Keynote speakers for this event featured Congresswoman Angie Craig, DEED Commissioner Steve Grove,
and Gerry Hoeffner, President of Personnel Dynamics Consulting Group and the Best Places to Work program.
The 2022 Workforce Development Forum explored ways to re-build, re-invigorate, and re-invest in workforce development and the Southeast Minnesota regional economy. Breakout sessions will include: Labor Market Update, Regional Workforce Development Innovation, the Inclusive Workforce Employer (I-WE) designation, the Future of Work, Immigrant Voices, and will spotlight this year’s Best Places to Work award recipients. The forum concluded with a celebration and recognition of this year’s Best Places to Work award recipients, and a sharing of employers’ best practices.
How Harmony Participated In The Workforce Development Forum
Harmony Enterprises was proud to participate as panelists in two of the breakout sessions for the day.
VP of Operations, Ramon Hernandez, discussed Harmony’s partnership with WDI, including the various programs we have implemented to help youth with barriers to employment receive training in manufacturing, training of potential applicants in soft skills, and the use of career fairs and similar programs to tap into the larger talent pool.
New Business Development Manager, Lane Powell, talked about how child care challenges affect businesses and communities across the country. He spoke more specifically about how Harmony Enterprises has met the challenges of child care in our community through the creation and operation of Harmony Kids Learning Center. He spoke of the benefits the learning center provides to our employees, the children they serve, and the Harmony area and to the entrepreneurial vision of Harmony’s President and spouse, Steve and Umbelina Cremer.
Harmony Enterprises appreciates the opportunity to be an active member of our regional business partners and the Fillmore County private business representative on the SE MN WDI Board of Directors.
