Harmony Enterprises President Ramon Hernandez Selected for Prestigious Minnesota Fire Service Leadership Program

Ramon Hernandez serves as Harmony’s President, taking an active role in all of our company operations.
Servant leadership is built on a simple but powerful principle: the true measure of leadership is not authority, but service. It means putting people first, listening before directing, leading with humility, and taking responsibility for the wellbeing of both teams and communities. At Harmony Enterprises, that philosophy is not just discussed, it is lived daily through the leadership of President Ramon Hernandez. His commitment to serving others, developing strong teams, and leading with purpose has long defined his impact across business, manufacturing, and public service.

Ramon gives time annually at the Farm Safety program, highlighting fire safety with elementary students.
For years, Ramon has demonstrated those servant leadership traits as a trusted voice within Southeastern Minnesota manufacturing roundtables, as President of HECO, and through his unwavering dedication to the community as the Chief of the Preston Fire Department. Whether guiding business decisions that affect employees and customers, or responding to emergencies that directly impact families and neighbors, his leadership style has remained consistent: show up, stay calm under pressure, make thoughtful decisions, and always put people first.
That unwavering commitment to service and growth has now earned Ramon a coveted selection into the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training & Education Fire Service Leadership Development Program, administered by Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education. This intensive four module program brings together a select group of fire service leaders from across the state for nearly 44 hours of advanced leadership education focused on communication, ethics, crisis management, human resources, marketing, and financial stewardship. The intent is not only to strengthen individual leaders, but to create a network of peers who will support one another throughout their careers. The modules are scheduled to begin in St. Cloud, Minnesota on January 9th and run periodically through April 4th.
For Ramon, the opportunity reflects everything he believes leadership should represent.
“I became a firefighter to overall help my community. Those who know me well understand that I have a hard time saying no when I know I can make a difference and help. Whether in the fire service or in business, leadership means surrounding yourself with a strong team, staying calm under pressure, and making tough decisions when they matter most. My 13 years in the fire service and 5 years as chief mirror my leadership journey in business, built on dedication, continuous learning, and the drive to make a meaningful impact. Today’s fire chiefs, like today’s business leaders, must master communication, ethics, crisis management, and strategic planning. That is why I am committed to ongoing education and excited for this leadership development class, to better serve my team, my community, and my family.”
-Ramon Hernandez, President, Harmony Enterprises
This next chapter in Ramon’s leadership journey is a powerful example of servant leadership in motion. Rather than seeing leadership as a destination, he continues to treat it as a responsibility that requires constant self improvement, education, and reflection. His willingness to invest personal time and energy into becoming a better leader directly benefits not only the Preston Fire Department, but also the employees, customers, and communities connected to Harmony Enterprises.
At Harmony, servant leadership guides how teams collaborate, how decisions are made, and how the company shows up within the communities it serves. Ramon’s selection into this highly regarded leadership development program reinforces the importance of humility, accountability, and continued learning at every stage of leadership.
The Harmony team, regional manufacturing colleagues, and the broader Preston community proudly congratulate Ramon on this well deserved achievement. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this new opportunity extend across the fire service, our organization, and the communities he continues to serve with integrity and purpose.
