At Harmony Enterprises, Inc., one of our ongoing goals is to find ways that we can give back to our communities. Recently, Nick Roberts, the Regional Sales Manager at Harmony Enterprises, Inc. volunteered to teach the Junior Achievement Class to the 3rd Grade students at Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic School in Woodbury, Minnesota. The class took place once a week for 5 weeks. During that time, the students gained an appreciation on how things in a city work and how much things actually cost.
The Kids Learned How A City Works:
o Types of zones within a city
o How banks play a role in a city
o Taxes & interest rates
o How a city and businesses use media to get their information out. (For instance, Nick showed the class Harmony Enterprises’ blog and explained the reasons why we blog and send out email newsletters, and how a city or other business would apply it.)
Why We Volunteer
Nick has worked as Regional Sales Manager at Harmony Enterprises, Inc. for seven years. When we asked him why he chose to volunteer to teach this class at St. Ambrose, Nick explained, “When I was a senior at The Academy of Holy Angeles in Richfield, MN we had a volunteer come to our class to teach us how to start a business through the Junior Achievement program. This class had such a great impact on me that when I heard that Mrs. Irizarry’s 3rd grade class was looking for a volunteer I jumped at the chance to teach the class while giving back to the community.”
Nick and Harmony Enterprises are proud to do a small part in helping our community and kids thrive! Thank you to Mrs. Irizarry and the Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic School and the Junior Achievement program for choosing Nick to share his knowledge with your students.
